Victim Support Service

Twenty-eight years ago、families with heart-breaking experiences of unsolved disappearances and murders of young women met in a church auditorium。 They needed help。 They needed answers。
At first they discussed and shared their journeys of grief and loss – then they got organized。
They formed peer support groups to help one another in their grief。 They petitioned。 They monitored courtroom proceedings。 They testified before legislative hearings。 They approached the Department of Corrections、prosecutors offices and law enforcement agencies to form coalitions to aid in their mission – read help for victims of violent crime。
They formed an organization that responded to the urgent and tragically often forgotten needs of victims of violent crime and the loved ones of missing persons and named it for what it was – FAMILIES & FRIENDS OF VIOLENT CRIME VICTIMS。

7/10 Wu injured: Catcher/first baseman Chao Wu is out indefinitely after he dislocated his elbow Thursday against Boise. Wu, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound player from Taiwan, hurt the elbow when he collided with a Boise baserunner. Grifol said Wu will see a doctor in Seattle on Monday. Wu was batting .217 and drew seven walks in eight games. 7/12 Injury update: Everett catcher Chao Wu is sidelined for two months and will return to Peoria, Ariz. to begin his recovery, according to AquaSox trainer Spyder Webb. Wu suffered a complete dislocation of his left shoulder last Thursday during a collision with a Boise runner. Wu, a native of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, saw a Seattle Mariners team doctor Monday in Seattle. Describing the severity of Wu’s injury, Webb jokingly called it “one of the good ones. That’s on the list, the all-time list.” The complete dislocation sent Wu to the emergency room for treatment in Boise. “There was not much doubt in my mind that he was hurt,” Webb said. “Something was wrong. We just didn’t know how bad.” The incident reminded Webb of another ghastly injury he witnessed years ago when the team played in Bellingham. While throwing a curve ball, a Bellingham pitcher snapped his humerus, the upper arm bone. Webb heard the injury from the dugout. “It (sounded) like a bottle broke. Everybody heard it.” Everett Herald
