2008 Regal 的免費 Summer Movie Festival

今年的 Regal Free Family Movie Festival 來了. 不過要知道的, 這是免費的家庭影片, 最好提早一點到, 並可能會有小朋友哭鬧的心理準備. 華盛頓州依戲院不一, 從 6/24 – 8/28. 播放時間是星期二和星期三早上十點. 由於這是免費的影片, 播放順序偶爾會有不一的情形. 可以打電話到戲院確認影片. 今年的電影如下. 這電影在各戲院輪流播放. 因此如果錯過了, 可以在後幾週到另一個戲院觀看. Heybrook Ridge

A jump-start for effort to preserve forest near Index To save scenic hillside, tiny Index gets a crash course in fundraising: Heybrook Ridge 是位於 Index, WA 的東側的那片山地. 這是位於 US-2 從西雅圖往 Leavenworh, 進 Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest 前的小城市. Heybrook Ridge 約一百年前被整個砍伐過. 現在擁有土地的公司預計再次的砍伐這片林地. 不過由於 Index 的請求, 擁有土地的公司決定給這個山裡面的小城市一年半的時間買下這片土地. 現在需要七個星期找到 1.3 million 的捐獻. 近期有位無名的捐款者將 match 所有的捐款至 $500,000. 所以 Friends of Heybrook Ridge 現在只需要找到 $800,000 就可以買下並保留那片超過 100 英畝的 Heybrook Ridge. 這地方距離西雅圖約一個小時. 是一個很好半日遊的地點. Index, WA 也是近日終於被投票通過, 只待總統先生的簽署的 Wild Sky Wilderness 的入口城市. 如果這片山林被砍伐, 那以後去 Wild Sky Wilderness 的入口就是很諷刺的一片光禿禿的山.
