家裡的電話
應該已經有兩三年多了, 常常接到找 John, the computer guy 的電話. 我們問了那些打電話來的人. 告訴的電話號碼竟是和我們家的電話號碼一模一樣, 連區碼也是一樣. 後來我們發現到, 我們以前的電話公司, 不知為什麼? 把我們家的電話號碼, 分配給了一個當地的電腦商店. 儘管我們注意到, 這個電腦商已經有了新的號碼, 但是這個錯誤還是隨處可見…網路上的電話搜尋, 電話簿等等. 因此我們還是一直接到這些找 John 修理電腦的電話. 有時候一天可以接到個兩三次. 真想不如就當壞人, 把他的生意給搶了…

星期五, city utility service 的員工再次敲了家的門. 在查了他們的資料和實地的探勘後, 他們的結論是, “當初蓋房子的時候, 建商通知 city utility service 時報錯了位置.” City utility service 所保存的建商提供的檔案資訊和實際上的水表位置是錯誤的. 意思就是說, 從先前這房子的屋主, 到後來我們住這十幾年間. 我們一直都是幫鄰居付水費…當然, 鄰居也是一直幫我們付水費. 由於錯誤得太久, 因此水費也只從今年二月起重算… 不知道這樣子是否可以提報 Guinness World Records?
