一兩年前測試了幾個月的 Double-Tall (Double-Decker), 現在又回來… 這次還是使用英國公司 Alexander Dennis 的 Enviro 500. Commute like the British do: on a double-decker bus [img=images/Enviro500Bus.gif popup=false] 照片出處: Community Transit 這 Double-Dekcer 不止載客量大, 還有好處的: * 消耗的油和 Double-Length 的公車差不多. * 下雪天的控制較靈活. 不像 Double-Length 的公車, 一下雪就完蛋了. * 視野好又刺激. 尤其是坐在上層的最前面一排, 除了可以俯瞰整個區域, 當公車經過高架橋時, 距離近得好像就會撞上. 實際上, 我並不喜歡這種 Double-Decker 的公車. * 下車的時間過長. 第一次測試時, 曾搭上這 Double-Decker 後的下一班公車(慢了約三分鐘). 結果到達 Lynnwood Park & Ride 時, 我都已經下車了, 那 Double-Decker 上的乘客還在那裡等下車. * 無法看到公車上層的狀況. 由於這公車沒有辦法看到上層公車內的旅客數目, 所以無法立即判斷上層是否已經坐滿了人. * 就像 Sounder 的雙層火車, 我都是坐在下層, 不喜歡那種高高在上的感覺. 這次除了一般的 #402, 還多加了下午的 #425 (Lake Stevens) 路線. 這是 Double-Tall 公車的時刻表. 這時刻表每兩個星期就會換一次, 讓其他的通勤路線的乘客也可以試試看. 今天下午 3:30pm Boeing 將會正式的介紹 Boeing 787. * Boeing 787 裡 65% 都不是由 Boeing 自己建造. Boeing 委託長榮航太科技改裝舊的 Boeing 747 為 Boeing 747 LCF (Dreamlifter), 來運送來自全球的 Boeing 787 組件. * Boeing 787 將是首架全機使用過半的複合材料製造的飛機. * Boeing 787 的窗戶將比 Boeing 777 大約 25%. 並使用按鈕式的調整窗戶明暗, 而不是下拉式的擋板. * 根據 Boeing, 787 將可以節省約 20% ~ 30% 的燃料. 原本 Boeing 是想設計為接近超音速的客機 (Sonic Cruiser). 讓旅客們節省至少 20% 的飛行時間. 但是在油價和 911 的影響下, 航空公司需求為省錢和低保養的客機, 造就了 Boeing 787 (Dreamliner).
